Many midsized cabin boats made for the fishing market can be cramped and uncomfortable, with a ride that will loosen some fillings when the seas get rough. But as long as there are plenty of rod holders, livebait wells and fish holders, many owners don’t seem to care.

Enter the brand new NorthCoast 255 HT.  This is a boat that has every feature a fishing fanatic could hope for, but it’s all wrapped in a roomy package that’s zippy, fuel efficient, dry, comfortable and designed to keep everyone on board out of the wind and weather until you get to the fishing grounds.

The deep-vee hull features a sharp entry with twin lifting strakes, a 22-degree deadrise at the transom and a hard chine. The result is a soft ride, nimble handling and excellent stability at drift or anchor.  Down below is a comfortable V-berth and an enclosed head with fresh water sink, pump-out head and six feet of headroom.

The three-sided cabin provides seating for four on the voyage out and back: two captain’s chairs at the helm, and two additional bench seats which also contain additional storage and gear trays.

The 255 HT model has more than nine feet of beam, which makes the working cockpit extra roomy, something any deepwater fisherman will appreciate. The rear transom contains two 139-quart fish boxes, a live baitwell, a transom door to port handy for pulling the big ones aboard, and ample hatch storage on the deck. With the rod holders, the under gunwale holders, the thigh-level padded coaming rail and the wide open accessibility, the business of catching fish will proceed with efficiency.

The power plant of twin F250 Yamaha outboards, and a fuel capacity of 159 gallons, means this boat can cruise along at 3,500 rpm and achieve 17 mpg. That should provide plenty of range to get out where the big ones swim.

NorthCoast’s combination of solid construction, a roomy dry ride and excellent fishing performance makes this cabin cruiser one to consider. Stop by McShane Yacht Sales and let us show you around.
